If you are not familiar with the term "full mattress", the size of full mattress is the same as a double mattress. These mattresses are 53 inches wide, only 15 inches wider than a twin size mattress, and like the twin size, they are 72 inches in length. This is the most common size of mattress in bedrooms. Parents are now opting to buy this size of mattress for their teenage children because it gives one sleeper much more room. Since a healthy sleeper does move about in the bed many times a night, it is important to have enough room to do so.
